Fun little project

Mine's been out for two years in Michigan, through snow and everything. Still looks good, they use stainless steel wire so it holds up well.

I think they say on the site that the wire is weather-resistant. My mom has one in her garden in Ohio and it's been fine for a few seasons, even with the cold and rain.

Nah, the starter kits come with pretty much everything you need, wire, base, pliers, even the instructions. Pretty complete.

Yeah, I got the 12 inch one and it had all the wire, a little plinth, and basic tools. Only thing you might want later is better pliers if you get really into it, but to start, it's all there.

Yeah, the website is the real deal. Robin Wight founded Fantasywire, so all the kits and original sculptures sold there are authentic. Anything else might be a copy.

The 18 inch is a good starting point. Not too tiny to be fiddly, but not so big it's overwhelming. You get a good feel for it.

I started with the 12 inch to get the hang of it, then moved up to the 18 inch. The smaller ones are good for figuring out the techniques, but the 18 inch isn't overly difficult if you're patient.

I returned a kit once because I accidentally ordered the wrong size. It wasn't too bad, just had to pay for shipping back to the UK. They processed the refund pretty quick after they got it.

Returns were easy for me. Just follow the instructions on their site. As long as it's unused, you should be fine. It is international shipping though, so factor that in.
